Spectrum open latest Internet Retail Shop at BAA Heathrow T1 Arrivals

Spectrum has taken the opportunity offered by BAA, to add an additional Internet Retail Shop at Heathrow T1 Arrivals.

The new Retail Shop located in the Heathrow Terminal One landside arrivals area, in ideally situated and operated unmanned 24/7 in a prime location. The new area is in addition to other recent retail investments within BAA including Heathrow T1 checking and Gatwick Village shopping areas.

Daniel Gray, Head of Group Marketing and Product Innovation, comments "we are committing to BAA with serious new investment, and with new bespoke designs, focused on their retail and airport environments. Our other recent BAA retail areas have proved highly successful, and we look forward continuing close relations with BAA, to maximise these areas".

Spectrum Interactive is the UK's leading independent provider of public internet access and payphone services.  Providing both fixed and wireless access into the travel and hospitality markets, Spectrum operates nearly 1,750 fixed internet access terminals and provides WiFi services into some 30,000 hotel, student and other hospitality rooms nationwide.  In addition, Spectrum owns and operates over 9,000 payphones.

Spectrum Interactive plc floated on AIM in April 2005 and is chaired by Lord Young of Graffham, former Chairman of Cable & Wireless and Secretary of State for Trade and Industry. Spectrum has turnover of approximately £18m per year with operations in both the UK and Germany providing services to over 1,000 corporate clients.

In the UK, Spectrum has built up excellent relationships with its premier clients such as BAA, working closely with client partners to deliver a flexible and competitive service to the millions of people using the UK's busiest airports.  Spectrum currently operates public internet services in 21 the UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.

In Germany, Spectrum's payphone installations have been targeted on the travel sector.  Spectrum has gained preferred supplier status with Deutsche Bahn and has exclusive contracts with Hamburg Airport, Hamburg Underground and Berlin Underground.  Spectrum is also rolling out fixed and wireless public internet access services into the German Market.

Spectrum has three principal areas of activity:

·         Interactive, a division developing and operating internet terminals and WiFi services principally in the travel and hospitality markets.

·         Payphones, in both private and public sites.

·         Co-located services, including poster advertising and ATM units on street payphones.
